Progress of project
New glamour for the Hyatt Regency Cologne just in time for Christmas
As planned, the 3rd construction phase of the renovation works was terminated last week and the areas handed over to the hotel. During the weekend the last finishing touches were made and on Monday morning, everything was ready to welcome the first guests for their breakfast. In the last six months, the entire public areas, the conference rooms, the restaurant, the bar, lobby and reception were renovated.
Project manager Martin Sostar is relieved and rightly so: “It has not always been easy to finish all tasks according to the very tight schedule. But in the end, the amazing teamwork of the various crafts made this possible. I am thus really happy, standing in the lobby and enjoying the result.”
Hyatt Art in the Hyatt Regency Cologne – 2nd construction phase successfully terminated
The second construction phase was handed over in time and now it is the conference centre of the luxurious venue that shines in new splendour. A delicate touch was added to the Hyatt Campus by hanging new works of art. The third construction phase, due to finish by the end of November, will see the restaurant and bar renovated.
Perfect finish of first construction phase – and what a first celebration!
Everybody on site was busy to the last minute to help achieve a successful handover of the first construction phase. And we did it: At the end of last week already, the first married couple had their reception in the newly renovated Riverside of the Hyatt Regency Cologne! Congratulations to bride and groom, we wish the both of you all the best!
The end of the first construction phase of the Hyatt Regency Cologne approaches
There is only one week to go and the new lobby, the library and parts of the newly designed conference centre will be handed over to the Hyatt Regency in Cologne. “Noise-intensive works may off course only be done in short periods during the day if you are to carry out construction works while the hotel is open”, explains project manager Martin Sostar. “A smooth organisation and a tough and tight schedule are our strategy to master this challenge.”
Project has started!
KAMPER has been commissioned as General Contractor with the renovation works in the Hyatt Regency Cologne. In the months to come, all public areas will be redone in the luxurious hotel at the shore of the Rhine, just opposite the Old Town and the Dome. And all this while the hotel remains open! As project manager Martin Sostar says: “We are happy to start another grand hotel project in Cologne. The demolition works in the former back office area have begun to make room for a new modern conference centre.”
